Melissa & Dave - Adventures at Sea

Day 10 - A long but quiet day at sea

We got up early (well, Dave got up early and Melissa snoozed) to start the long sail from Desolation Sound back across the Straights of Georgia.  We decided on one very long day of sailing because Dave was determined to get Melissa a "spa day" at Poet's Cove on Wednesday.  Sailing across the Straights was much calmer - the seas were glassy and the winds were less than 10 knots.  Melissa was content to sleep and read for the better part of the day.  When she finally woke up and came up on deck it was warm and sunny.  So she slept there.

For brunch Melissa fixed a- bacon & egg scramble that was really good.  It had cheddar cheese and sour cream with onions. We also ate the one remaining melon, which looked like it had a "face" carved into it because it was so moldy by then.  But there was enough good melon to still have a nice bite.

We came into the Schooner Cove marina before 5pm.  Dave washed the boat and we refilled with water.  Melissa got a few more supplies.  We grilled sausage for dinner and ate it with a pasta salad made with feta, artichoke hearts, capers, and sun dried tomatoes with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
