At this point it was a day by day wait to see when the ship would arrive in Panama. The challenge was that the shipping company won’t lock the loading date till three days prior. But Dave has to be IN panama three days prior to allow enough time to get the boat ready. So Dave decides to look up the ship on the AIS system. He found the freighter that will be carrying Apsaras on marinetraffic.com. As of yesterday, it was 400 miles off shore of Virginia heading SW at 13 knots. AIS says the next port is Cristobol Panama (not Florida) but that is just what the crew entered into the device. She appears to be heading for Florida. If she does go to Florida and around Cuba, she has about 2100 nm to go until she is in Cristobol Panama. That is just shy of 7 days (from yesterday) of travel. That would put her in Panama Friday the 3rd plus however long she spends at the Port of Everglades in Florida (if she stops). Dave is betting on a June 4 arrival in Panama, but we still can’t be sure.
